The Lamar Jackson rumors are at an all-time high and everyone is giving their two cents. The Patriots have been mentioned as a possible destination for the former MVP, but one former New England great doesn’t think Jackson should go for one reason.
“Lamar Jackson, my brother trust me you don’t want to play for [coach Bill] Belichick,” former Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel said on Twitter.
Samuel played for Belichick from 2008 to ‘11. Over his 10-year career with the Patriots, Eagles and Falcons, Samuel won two Super Bowls—both in New England—and was named All-Pro twice.

Rumors swirled Jackson could sign with the Patriots after team owner Robert Kraft said rapper Meek Mill texted him that Jackson was interested. However, The Athletic later reported New England won’t be exploring him at quarterback.
The Ravens placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson on March 7 and he’s free to negotiate with teams on an offer sheet. But if Samuel had it his way, he’d have Jackson steering clear of Belichick it appears.
