We always knew Brian Burns was a fan of the cinema.
After failing to come to a long-term agreement with the two-time Pro Bowl pass rusher, the Carolina Panthers traded Burns away to the New York Giants on Monday evening. In exchange for their former first-round pick, whom they could’ve gotten two first-rounders and a second-rounder for back in 2022, the team received a 2024 second and a 2025 fifth.
And Burns, perhaps unsurprisingly to those who are acquainted with his fun social media escapades, posted a tweet just minutes after the deal was announced . . .

While still somewhat shocking, the trade couldn’t have blindsided the standout 25-year-old defender. Burns told reporters in his final interview from the 2023 campaign that he was preparing for a multitude of outcomes this offseason.
“The best thing I can do is be ready,” he said back in January. “If it do turn out that they do wanna keep me here and I stay, I’m ready. And if turns out I have to go somewhere else, I’m definitely ready for that, too. So as long as I’m ready in any angle, I’m fine.”
Well, now we definitely understand the words that were coming out of his mouth.
