Former chairperson of Palakkad municipality, P.A. Ramanibhai (70), passed away here on Wednesday. She had played an active role in the socio-political and cultural spheres of Palakkad.
She was former State secretary of the Mahila Congress, and Syndicate member of Kerala Agricultural University. She had worked for the District Tourism Promotion Council as a governing board member, the Oisca International, TAP Natakavedi, Prohibition Council, Read Charitable Trust, Swaralaya, Navarang, Innerwheel, Alochana Sahitya Vedi, and Samskara Sahiti.
Her body will be brought to the Municipality Office here at 8.30 a.m. on Thursday for the public to pay homage. The funeral will be held at the Chandranagar electric crematorium after that. She is survived by a son and a daughter.
