Just over a week after the NFL draft and dreams are already being dashed. Several former Buckeyes who didn’t hear their names called in the first seven rounds were signed as undrafted free agents. One of which was running back Master Teague who was signed by the Chicago Bears.
However, after a three-day rookie camp, the Bears have waived the former Ohio State running back. They chose instead to keep Ohio University running back, De’Montre Tuggle. Teague was not invited to the NFL combine but put on an impressive showing at the Ohio State pro day. Some of the numbers he put up would have been among the top of all draft-eligible running backs.
The #Bears signed 6 tryout players from rookie minicamp:
LB Christian Albright
S Jon Alexander
LS Antonio Ortiz
DE Carson Taylor
S AJ Thomas
RB De'Montre TuggleWaived:
LB Ledarius Mack
RB Master Teague
WRs Landon Lenoir & Savon Scarver
LB Jaylan Alexander

While we hate to see Teague cut so soon, this is all about finding the right fit. It feels like the bruising power back with a rare combination of elite speed will get a call from another team before it’s all said and done.
