Former Nottingham College campus to be given 'new life' as demolition plan approved

Permission has been granted for the transformation of a former college into a headquarters and set of apartment blocks. The old Nottingham College campus in Farnborough Road, Clifton will be partially demolished to be redeveloped into the new headquarters for Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA), after plans were approved by Nottingham City Council on March 31.

A new two-storey building incorporating some of the college buildings will be turned into offices, a call centre, a maintenance depot and café. A three-storey building will house 50 independent living apartments and there will also be another two-storey building providing 14 supported living apartments and six bungalows.

The existing gym and changing rooms at the current site will be kept and new infrastructure will be put in place. Locals said they hoped the transformation would "bring new life to the area".
