A former mental health drop-in centre in Stevenston is to be transformed into flats.
Planning permission has been granted for a change of use and conversion to six apartments for private rental at the 21 Station Road property.
The building – a two-storey converted villa – was previously used by mental health charity SAMH, formerly known as 'Health in Mind'.
Broomfield Properties, who own the building, say the development will consist of four one-bedroom and three two-bedroom flats.
An attic conversion with rear dormer will also form part of the project.
Documents submitted as part of an application to North Ayrshire Council's planning department in March described the current state of the building as 'considerably dilapidated' and 'in need of extensive renovation'.
External works proposed include roof lights, new windows and the removal of external roller shutters.
No objections were raised about the project. Initial concerns from roads chiefs about lack of parking were addressed by the applicant who has confirmed that eight off-street spaces could be provided.
This was subsequently considered acceptable given the proximity to transport routes.
The application was approved on the condition that, prior to work starting, parking and landscaping details are submitted to the council for written approval. Parking spaces must also be formed before the flats are occupied.
