Alan Pardew is close to becoming the new CSKA Sofia manager, according to the latest reports. Sky Sports claim the former Newcastle boss is in talks over a short term contract with the club, two years since his last managerial role.
The former Magpies boss has been the technical director at the club for the last 18 months but is going to take over from Stoycho Mladenov who resigned from his position as manager today. The former CSKA boss claimed he didn't have enough control over transfer policy.
Pardew is believed to have taken control of first team training today and will be in charge of Sunday's game against Levski Sofia. It's expected the former Toon boss will take charge for the remainder of the season as they search for a replacement.

The 60-year-old has not managed since leaving ADO Den Haag in 2020 - his first managerial stint abroad. Pardew was linked with thee vacant AFC Wimbledon job earlier this year, but looks set to take over in Bulgaria.
