A former Michigan State quarterback has been named the starter for a Big 12 team for the 2024 season.
Former Spartans quarterback Sam Leavitt transferred from Michigan State to Arizona State this offseason shortly after Jonathan Smith was named the Spartans’ new head coach.
Pete Thamel of ESPN broke the news on Leavitt earning the Sun Devils starting gig.
Leavitt was a former four-star prospect in the 2023 class. As a true freshman, Leavitt appeared in four games, completing 15 of 23 pass attempts for 139 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
