A Michigan State football legend has sadly passed away this week. James Ninowski Jr., who led the Spartans to a National Championship and Rose Bowl victory in his senior season under head coach Duffy Daugherty passed away last week on July 23rd at the age of 88.
Ninowski was the recipient of the MVP award during the college all star game before being drafted by the Cleveland Browns. He spent some time with the Detroit Lions after that before being traded back to the Browns. He ended his career in 1970 with the Washington Redskins.
