Retired NRL star Brett Stewart has been charged with cocaine possession after being stopped by police on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

The former Manly Sea Eagles fullback, who was once the face of rugby league, is due to face court later this month charged with one count of possessing a prohibited drug.
