Former Manchester United forward Dwight Yorke has claimed he will be ready to take a managerial job like the vacant position at Tottenham Hotspur in just a couple of years.
The 51-year-old was previously linked with the Aberdeen job after Jim Goodwin was sacked in January, but the Scottish club ultimately chose to go with Barry Robson until the end of the season. Yorke, meanwhile, still has aspirations of managing in the Premier League in the coming years.
Yorke has so far managed only Australian side Macarthur FC since retiring from his playing career - winning 10 of his 18 matches in charge. Having left that post in January, the former Reds man is now targeting a top-flight job in England.

"I’m at an early stage in my coaching career and there will be a time and place for me to do that once I make my way up the ladder," he told Sports Lens. "My time will come, but not yet, I have to be sensible in my decision making and I have to admit the Premier League is not quite for me yet.
"In maybe two or three years, I’ll try to be in the category to get such a job like the Tottenham one now."
Spurs are currently seeking a new manager for next season after Antonio Conte left the club last week. The London outfit have been linked with former boss Mauricio Pochettino, while Julian Nagelsmann - who was recently dismissed by Bayern Munich - is also thought to be a target.
Discussing the managerial situation at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Yorke suggested their next appointment will be determined by their fate in Champions League qualification.
He added: "A manager coming in will want to come once the fourth spot is secure, managers are probably waiting and don’t want to touch that job until the end of the season.
"But I don’t think many managers can turn their nose up to Tottenham because they’re an attractive club to go to. Managers will want to challenge themselves and try to break the curse of no silverware for years. They’ll have managers lined up for the job."
Yorke made 152 appearances for United during his time at Old Trafford, registering 66 goals and 31 assists.
