Former Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has scored a fabulous strike for Boca Juniors.
Blighted by injuries throughout his career in the Premier League — he only managed 76 appearances in his seven years for United, in which he transitioned from a left-back in his early days to a centre-back — Rojo has since found pastures new.
United fans were always aware of his talents, but he was never able to consistently put it together, and left the club earlier this calendar year as he returned to his home nation. Since returning to Argentina, Rojo has scored four leagues goals playing from defence - but none have ever been as impressive as the one he scored on Sunday night.

The ball fell to Rojo on the edge of the area as he rifled a fierce strike into the top corner. Rojo's Boca Juniors ran out 3-1 winners against his former club Estudiantes on Sunday, as his powerful strike left goal keeper Mariano Andujar with no chance in the opposition net.
Rojo’s last senior game for United came in December 2019, with the defender heading out on loan to his boyhood club Estudiantes a month later. His time at United eventually came to an end in February 2021 when a fee was agreed for him to return to his home country and join Boca Juniors.
