Former Manchester United and England star gives West Ham prediction ahead of 2022/23 season

Former Manchester United and England goalkeeper Ben Foster has given his predictions over how the 2022/23 Premier League season will end.

Foster, who has played 389 times in the Premier League in stints with United, Birmingham City, Watford and West Browmich Albion, was part of Watford’s team who last year suffered relegation back down to the Championship and the 39-year-old has been speaking about the new season, as well as predicting how the season will end.

Giving his thoughts on the upcoming campaign, Foster has tipped the Hammers to drop a place for a second consecutive season, finishing in eighth place, which would see them miss out on qualification for all of Europe’s three club competitions.

In Foster’s table, as predicted on his YouTube channel Ben Foster – The Cycling GK, he tipped Leicester City to finish in seventh place and above David Moyes’ side, who have spent north of £80m this summer to sign Alphonse Areola, Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes and Gianluca Scamacca.

Speaking on the other six teams above them, Foster has predicted that Manchester City will retain their Premier League crown, Chelsea will finish second, Liverpool in third and Tottenham Hotspur in fourth. Taking the Europa League places in Foster’s prediction are Arsenal and his former side United, with Foster believing that the duo will finish in the same positions as they ended last season in.

Foster also expects recently promoted Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth to be instantly relegated following their returns to the top-flight. The eight-time England international expects Southampton to be the other side relegated, ending what would be an 11-season stay in the Premier League.
