The former boss of Manchester Airport has joined Premier League club Arsenal.
Karen Smart has been named as their new chief operating officer after having served as the airport's managing director from August 2020 to July this year.
She stepped down from that role in April in the wake of criticism from travellers who faced long queues and being forced to miss their flights.

She was succeeded in that job by Chris Woodroofe, who was previously chief operating officer at Gatwick from 2016 to 2020.
Mrs Smart had previously been managing director of East Midlands Airport, which is also part of the Manchester Airports Group.
She first joined the group as customer service director in June 2014 before becoming director of asset management in July 2016.
Mrs Smart was an officer in the RAF from 1992 to 2006 and has also worked for Serco.
