Former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has been recalled to the Italy national team for a training camp.
The 31-year-old last featured for his international more than three years ago, in friend in September 2018.
Since then, the maverick forward, who currently plays for Adana Demirspor in Turkey, has been frozen out by the Azzurri. Less than two years ago, Italy captain Giorgio Chiellini described Balotelli as a 'negative person with no respect to the team'.
Balotelli will now take part in the camp which lasts from Wednesday, January 26 to Friday, January 28 as head coach Roberto Mancini begins preparations for next month's World Cup qualifiers.
Balotelli has an impressive 14 goals in 36 caps for Italy.
So far this campaign, for his domestic team, the Italian has scored a creditable nine goals and five assists in 21 appearances.
