He is the first high-ranking official member of a major Mafia family to have walked away without protective custody and survived to tell the tale.
Joseph Bono portrayed Michael in the popular Goodfellas movie and he opted to feature as himself in the Netflix documentary ‘Fear City: New York vs. The Mafia’.
Edinburgh audiences will be able to hear untold stories surrounding his criminal past including his imprisonment, finding faith in God and the threats he faced on his life once he broke his oath of silence and walked away from the Colombo family.
The tour also involved a question and answer session for members of the public to ask anything they wish about the Mafia.
After spending the majority of his life in organised crime circles in New York he is now a motivational speaker and author promoting activism against crime and violence.
The ‘An Evening with Michael Franzese – The Real Goodfella’ tour will stop at the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa on the 4th August for one night only.
