After taking a free agent visit with the San Francisco 49ers, former Lions EDGE Austin Bryant agreed to sign with the NFC West team. Bryant signed with the 49ers on a one-year contract, according to numerous reports.
A 2019 fourth-round draft pick out of Clemson, Bryant never really caught on in Detroit. He started six games in four seasons, five of them in 2021. In 33 total games with the Lions, Bryant logged 65 total tackles and 4.5 sacks.
The Lions made no real effort to re-sign Bryant as a free agent in 2023.
