Former Leeds United midfielder Carlton Palmer believes the club's director of football Victor Orta will continually face scrutiny for his decision to replace Marcelo Bielsa. The Argentinian was of course sacked by the club last month and was subsequently replaced by American, Jesse Marsch.
Bielsa, who was a fans favourite here in West Yorkshire, will forever be remembered for guiding the Whites back to the Premier League in 2020, but was dismissed following a run of five defeats in just six games.
Marsch has since steered the club to a more promising position, following back-to-back wins last month, with Palmer insisting the criticism will continue to come for Orta, given the amount of emotion felt following Bielsa's sacking.

In an exclusive interview, Palmer told GiveMeSport : “He’s always going to be under pressure, I think, for getting rid of Bielsa. He’s always going to be under pressure if results are not going well, if the team’s not performing well, the fans will always have Bielsa close to their heart.
“So, if things are not going well, of course, the hierarchy of the club will come under pressure because they will say, ‘Well, why did you get rid of Bielsa?"
Sitting in 16th position before this weekend's clash with Southampton at Elland Road, United will be bidding to make it a hat-trick of consecutive victories for the first time since May 2021.
But with 8 games remaining, the Whites still have tricky tests to come too, as they face Chelsea and Manchester City at Elland Road in April, before a trip to the Emirates begins their final month of Premier League action this season.
