Former Leeds United defender Oliver Casey has joined Forest Green Rovers on loan for the upcoming Football League campaign. The 21-year-old left Leeds last summer in pursuit of regular first team football, joining Championship side Blackpool on a three-year deal.
However, the former Whites prospect made just eight appearances last term and was far down the Seasiders defensive pecking order.
A loan to newly promoted League One side Forest Green Rovers seems like an excellent move for the young defender who made a two senior appearances for the Whites during his time at Elland Road.

His move to Rovers means he won't face off against his former side Leeds when Blackpool face them in a pre-season friendly tonight. And the defender hopes his League One loan can help him kick on in his development.
"I’m buzzing to get it done and I’m delighted to be here," Casey told the Forest Green website. "Obviously it’s taken a few weeks to finally get it over the line but I’m just happy I’m here now.
"I left Leeds to join Blackpool and I played a few games, but that’s why I’ve come here - to carry on developing and become a better player.
"It was a really good experience for me to play in the Championship last season. You grow up watching leagues like that, so to play in it and get that experience is only going to put me in good stead for the future and this season as well.
"For me now it’s about game time and trying to kick on and develop as a player. The more games I play, the better."
