Former Labour MP to stand trial over sexual assault

  • McGinn, 41, is accused of drunkenly groping a woman's breasts and crotch area during a night out in July 2022, despite her telling him to stop.
  • The alleged incident occurred while McGinn was an MP, and the matter was initially investigated internally by the Labour Party before being reported to the Metropolitan Police.
  • McGinn's defence barrister stated that he "vehemently denies" the allegation against him.
  • The judge has ordered McGinn to stand trial for three days, commencing on 16 November, and he has been released on unconditional bail.
