The scaffolding is gone, the building dust has been swept away, brand new furniture graces every room and there are even some welcoming flowers outside...the transformation of an old police station into a community hub is complete.
Active Communities, which runs fitness and wellbeing classes for people of all ages, had the pipe dream of taking over the former Johnstone Police Station across the road from its offices on Quarry Street, back in 2018.
Then followed mountains of paperwork to secure funding and an asset transfer of the building.
