Former House speaker Kevin McCarthy to resign from Congress at end of year

Kevin McCarthy will retire from US Congress at the end of this month.

“I have decided to depart the House at the end of this year to serve America in new ways,” the former House speaker said, in a column for the Wall Street Journal. “I know my work is only getting started.”
