Former Hollyoaks star James Redmond has recently landed a role in The Outlaws and the 50-year old appears unrecognisable from his days in the soap.
The actor, who played Rory 'Finn' Finnigan on the Channel 4 show from 1997 to 2002, will appear in series two of the comedy thriller later this year.
In an Instagram post in which he posed with director Stephen Merchant, the Bristolian sported a beard and grey hair - quite a contrast from his time on set in Chester.
Alongside the photo he wrote: "Season 2 of 'THE OUTLAWS' launches next month on BBC1 and BBC iPlayer in the U.K. and on Prime Video internationally, later this year.
"Great script, stellar cast and lush locations. Over the moon to have been cast in an episode. Fairplay [sic] to the multitalented Stephen Merchant and congrats to all involved."
Fans and celebrity friends alike were quick to congratulate the star, with actress and former Casualty co-star Sunetra Sarker replying: "Made up for you James!! Great show."
Another former co-star, Paul Danan, added: "Jim that's Incredible, I'm so proud of you."
DJ Martin Bundsen said: "So good! Hope you’re great buddy!"
The first series of Bristol-based The Outlaws aired in October last year and received critical acclaim. It centres on a group of minor offenders from different backgrounds (including Stephen as failed lawyer Greg Dillard), who are thrown together in a community payback scheme.
Stephen previously said: "More than anything I've done before, it was a real team effort in terms of trying to engage all that stuff.
"I certainly think I'm mindful of everything that we put in the show and what our agenda is and how it might be perceived.
"I think things have changed and my own opinions have changed over time. I've been doing this for 20-odd years."
Also featuring Christopher Walken as Frank Sheldon, Nina Wadia as Shanthi Rekowski and Ian McElhinney as John Halloran Snr, series two hits our screens in June.
