James Keatings has declared he's ready to get his career back on track after the former Hearts and Hibs forward agreed a one-year move to League Two side Forfar Athletic.
The forward endured a testing 2021/22 campaign after leaving Championship side Inverness for league rivals Raith Rovers, toiling with injury and eventually ending up on loan Montrose. Such was his struggle with injury during that time that he considered calling quits on his playing days but the Station Park club have convinced the 30-year-old that he still has something to offer despite the fitness concerns he has had.
His new club said in a statement: "Experienced striker James Keatings has vowed to resurrect his playing career at Station Park after a disappointing last twelve months battling a hip injury with parent club Raith Rovers and on loan at Montrose prior to calling it a day for the campaign back in March.

"James signed for the ‘Loons’ after agreeing a one year deal, his first as a part-time player in a senior career that began in 2010.
"The forward who began that career as a youth team player with Celtic had considered quitting the game altogether but after talks with Gary Irvine agreed to the move to Forfar."
Keatings joins Hearts from Hamilton Accies in 2014, netting an impressive 11 goals with six assists in 33 games at Tynecastle as they won the Championship.
But a year later he was on the move to rivals Hibs, again winning the Championship in that spell but also writing himself into Leith history by helping claim the 2016 Scottish Cup. Keatings left Hibs in 2017 for Dundee United after 70 outings.
