Former Georgia WR Terry Godwin re-signs with CFL team

Former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Terry Godwin has signed a one-year deal to return to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Godwin recently completed a career-best year in the Canadian Football League.

Godwin, 27, hauled in 68 receptions for 864 receiving yards and six touchdowns for the Tiger-Cats. He finished the 2023 CFL season with the 15th-most receiving yardage in the league.

Godwin is making a difference in the CFL and is poised to have a big season in 2024. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound receiver bounced around the NFL for a few seasons before finding a home in the CFL.

The Carolina Panthers drafted Godwin in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL draft. Godwin played with the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2019-2021. He caught three passes for 32 yards during that time. The Tennessee Titans waived Godwin ahead of the start of the 2022 NFL season. Since then, Godwin has been playing in the CFL. According to Spotrac, Godwin earned $912,424 during his NFL career.

Last season, the Tiger-Cats finished 8-10. Godwin was Hamilton’s second-leading receiver in 2023. Let’s look at some highlights from Godwin’s impressive 2023 campaign.

Godwin played at Georgia from 2015-2018. He finished his Georgia career with 1,800 receiving yards and 11 receiving touchdowns. It is good to see Godwin find a professional football home.
