Former Georgia Bulldog and two-time national champion Kendall Milton was a victim of final cuts, but he’s latched onto another team relatively quickly. He signed with the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad to serve as emergency depth.
He wasn’t able to receive a phone call on draft day during the 2024 NFL draft, but he did get a call from the Philadelphia Eagles afterward to sign a rather lucrative contract to be an undrafted free agent for the squad. On a team full of several Bulldogs, it looked like Milton would be a critical part of the culture on this team.
Unfortunately, with Saquon Barkley and Kenneth Gainwell already solidified as the first two backs, it was an uphill battle for Milton. He lost the third running back spot to former Clemson running back Will Shipley.
Now with Cincinnati, a team that has more unproven running backs in Chase Brown and Zach Moss, Milton could actually see himself making his debut if injuries strike Brown or Moss. His style of downhill running would be super effective in goal-line chances, and with a line featuring first-round pick Amarius Mims, also a former Bulldog, UGA fans are very excited for that prospect.
