An American woman who worked at Five Guys as a high school student has revealed the one thing they do that she just 'cannot get past'.
Although former employee Emily agrees that everything Five Guys says about only serving fresh produce is '100 per cent true', she isn't keen on how the bacon is prepared.
Emily, who now vlogs about the Keto diet and custom meal plans, claims that all the bacon for the day is cooked during the opening shift, at around 8am or 9am.
According to Emily, who worked in a US branch of the burger chain, this means that customers may be eating 'crispy, stale bacon' many hours after it's been cooked.

In a video shared via TikTok, Emily said: "Not just for part of the day, no. The whole day, until you close at 10pm, all of that bacon is cooked 12 hours beforehand, and it sits out, and it's not refrigerated, and it is crispy and gross.
"So the next time you go to Five Guys, and spend an extra $2 (£1.60) on a bacon burger, please don't".
However, many of those in the comments section weren't too put off by this revelation, with one person arguing that this sort of thing is done 'at every restaurant'.
One person wrote: "I know a lot of places would do this, and honestly there are places that would purchase precooked bacon and go from there!"
Another said: "The bacon is still good it doesn’t matter when it’s cooked for the day but it’s designed that way that’s why they do it".
However, even after hearing arguments for pre-cooked bacon, Emily, who goes by the username @emily_in_keto still wasn't completely convinced.
Declaring that she's 'never had crispy stale bacon that’s not even reheated on a griddle from any other restaurant before', she added, I don’t care if this is common in other restaurants. It’s nasty and ridiculous they upcharge you for eight-hour old bacon'.
According to shelf life guide website Still Tasty, cooked bacon will last for up to four to five days in the refrigerator, and is best kept either in shallow airtight containers or wrapped up tightly with aluminum foil or cellophane.
