Former First Lady Pat Nixon, wife of former President Richard Nixon, reportedly predicted that President-elect Trump would win the presidency if he decided to run, as revealed in a letter from Richard Nixon to Trump. The Nixon Foundation shared a brief letter from the former president to Trump, referencing Trump's 1987 appearance on 'The Phil Donahue Show' where he discussed business, politics, and international affairs.

In the letter dated December 12, 1987, Nixon expressed that he had not watched the program himself but mentioned that Mrs. Nixon had informed him of Trump's impressive performance on the show. According to Nixon, his wife, who he described as an expert on politics, was particularly impressed and predicted that Trump would be a winner if he chose to run for office.
