Prosecutors have revealed that a former FBI agent, Mark Allan Wells, is facing serious allegations of recording approximately 80 women in sex acts without their knowledge. Wells, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was removed from his duties at the Tulsa Federal Bureau of Investigation office last May following accusations from three women, including his ex-wife, of being recorded without consent during intimate moments.
An investigation into Wells' laptop unveiled 55 photo albums containing around 2,245 photos and videos, with about 75% of them being of a sexual nature. Despite the discovery of Nest cameras in his home, no hidden cameras were found. However, a fake smoke detector was located in his upstairs bedroom, although no camera was found inside.
Initially facing three criminal charges, Wells now confronts two felony Peeping Tom charges and 11 misdemeanors for nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images. Some victims have been identified, while others remain unknown. Police have identified at least eight recipients of the illicit material, both men and women.
One victim reported that Wells boasted about his collection of nude photos, showing her a large album with sub-albums labeled with individual women's names. Wells denied these claims initially, stating he would not brag about having naked photos of other women to someone he was in an exclusive relationship with.
Wells' ex-wife and ex-fiancee both shared disturbing accounts of being recorded without their knowledge. His ex-fiancee expressed shock and disbelief, having planned to marry him and have him play a significant role in her child's life.
Several women, including Morgan Ballou, who dated Wells for years, have come forward with allegations. Ballou has filed a civil case against Wells for damages. Despite being scheduled to testify against him, Wells waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
Wells' next court appearance is set for April 1, and he is currently out on bond. The FBI has condemned his alleged actions, emphasizing that such behavior will not be tolerated and that they are cooperating with the ongoing investigations.
