The former owner of Formula One is reportedly set to make an offer for Center Parcs. Private equity firm, CVC Capital Partners, is said to have entered the race with a number of other potential buyers considering taking over the holiday firm - which has sites across the UK, including one in Nottinghamshire.
Its current owner, Brookfield Property Partners, is said to be seeking a sale between £4 billion and £5 billion, according to the Telegraph. It comes after reports that the organisation recently appointed investment bankers to find a potential buyer for the resort.
Center Parcs is a popular holiday choice with families across Nottinghamshire. Its Sherwood Forest site offers over 400 acres of Woodland to explore, an open-air village square and a refurbished aqua sana forest spa, including the UK’s first treetop sauna.

The site also offers a number of activities for all ages, including adventure golf, archery and jet skiing, as well as a number of play areas. Indoors, guests can enjoy sports such as badminton and fencing.
CVC, which sold Formula One to US group Liberty Media in 2017, is one of the world's largest private equity funds. But it is not the company's first attempt at buying the holiday chain.
If it makes an offer, it would mark its second takeover attempt, following its bid to buy Center Parcs when it was sold last in 2015. Since Brookfield took over, it has built an additional 250 lodges and invested almost £100 million in developing the resort's website and computer systems.
