Former Erik ten Hag player tells Manchester United fans and squad what to expect

Former Erik ten Hag player Julian Green has detailed what the Manchester United players can expect ahead of the Dutchman's arrival.

The American enjoyed time with the incoming United manager during his time at Bayern Munich II. Ten Hag will see out the season with Ajax as they push for another Eredivisie crown, before taking charge of United in the summer.

Ajax's 1-0 win over NEC Nijmegen on Saturday saw them move a step closer to their third league title under Ten Hag. Prior to his move to his native Holland, Ten Hag enjoyed success at Bayern Munich II while Pep Guardiola was in charge of the first team.

Green, who currently plays for Bundesliga outfit Greuther Furth, has outlined what the United fans and squad can expect from Ten Hag. He told MEN Sport : "He has great character. He wanted the best from every single player.

"Great coach but also a great guy who always tells the truth to his players. He loves the game and you feel that as a player.

"It was always about details. At Bayern, we trained to standard, not to time. If we need to train longer to make sure we understood every detail we did it. He has a very clear game plan each week and he is a clear communicator. Win or lose United fans will know there was a plan and a strategy for every portion of the game."
