A former pub in the Longstone neighbourhood of Edinburgh is potentially being turned into a block of flats alongside a commercial unit.
As plans are currently under review by Edinburgh City Council, the old Longstone Inn, which was put up for sale in 2021, could be upgraded to a six-floor block of flats.
The former pub was initially put up for sale in June 2021, after stormy weather swept away part of the building leaving 'extensive' damage to the toilet block area.

It reopened again, but closed its doors permanently soon after - with the building being put up for sale on Rightmove for £175,000.
According to the previous listing, the building "provides a great opportunity to acquire the subjects at an attractive price and develop the subject for existing bar/restaurant or other use."
It adds: “The premises may suit further development for mixed/residential use subject to consent.”

New plans have now been submitted to the council this month and will be subject to a decision by the authority on whether they can go ahead. If successful, the former pub will be transformed into a six-floor residential area, alongside a possible commercial unit.
Scottish Water have also released a statement to the council after the damage to the building was deemed too severe for the pub to reopen.
A spokesperson for Scottish Water wrote in the planning documents: "Scottish Water has no objection to this planning application; however, the applicant should be aware that this does not confirm that the proposed development can currently be serviced.
"There is currently sufficient capacity in the Glencorse Water Treatment Works to service your development. However, please note that further investigations may be required to be carried out once a formal application has been submitted to us."
