Former Corrie star and Hollyoaks beauty told she's wrong as she tells fans she's 'forgotten how to dress' after becoming a mum

Former Coronation Street star Lucy-Jo Hudson has asked fans for help as she admitted that she had 'forgotten how to dress' after becoming a mum. Lucy-Jo, who played killer Katy Harris in Corrie and now plays feisty Donna-Marie Quinn in Hollyoaks, posted an honest plea on her Instagram as she invited followers to share their their styling tips.

The 39-year-old mother-of-two, who has a nine-year-old daughter Sienna with her ex husband Corrie star Alan Halsall and a three-year-old son Carter with her partner Lewis Devine, said she enjoyed dressing up for Mother's Day. But she admitted that these days she finds it hard to put an outfit together.

"I so loved yesterday, it was gorgeous to spend time with the family and get dressed up and feel like me," she wrote. And she asked: "Does anyone else feel like sometimes you've forgotten how to dress?"

The soap beauty, who has played reformed drug addict Donna-Marie in the show since 2018, explained: "Before becoming a mummy, I had the time, the energy and what I thought was an eye for fashion! But now, I genuinely find it so hard to put an outfit together! I live in a handful of clothes from my wardrobe and the school run I throw my gym gear on!"

She continued: "I can't remember the last time i went shopping… and I'm hardly going to pinch Donna-Maries wardrobe. I think the last time I shopped properly was when Topshop was still on the highstreet lol." Lucy-Jo added: "Any recommendations please tag below it would be so much appreciated. #happymonday #styleme #fashionadvice."

New mum co-star Jessica Fox sympathised with her, messaging: "I also feel your pain, although for different reasons right now! No idea what to wear or how to style my changing body! Let me know what you find out x"

But Lucy-Jo was flooded with compliments from followers who thought she was wrong as they admired the snaps of her looking stylish wearing a dusty pink jacket and matching nails. She wore a dark T-shirt underneath her jacket and added large gold hoop earrings.

Fellow Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe, who plays Mercedes McQueen, said: "Bloody beautiful." And the soap replied with flame emojis.

Tim Jones told Lucy-Jo: "Don't say that. U look so amazing & love the jacket really suits u & love the colour." Surekha Owens exclaimed: "Love the jacket! Where from?" And Terri-ann Ingham said: "You are beautiful inside and out and look fabulous in everything you wear. X"

Chris Monks praised: "Looking fab!" Rachel Davies agreed: "You look amazing." And kirsty.walker.77964 complimented: "Lovely outfit LucyJo."

Last month Lucy-Jo, who played tragic Katy in Coronation Street from 2002 until the character took her own life in 2005 after murdering her dad Tommy with a wrench, asked "tell me this isn’t just me?" as she previously confessed about not being able to fit in going to the gym.

"Honest mum post coming up.." she wrote. "I’d love to say i've been going regularly to the gym, but the truth is I just haven’t found the time.

"I know going makes me feel so much better (after obvs ) but the juggle of the mental motherload; work, kids, childcare, arranging appointments, admin, dinner, housework....this list goes on... there just hasn't been the time. I genuinely don't know how people carve out time other than going at 4am... which trust me with Carters sleep pattern at the minute I’m just not gonna do. Tell me this isn’t just me?"

And her Wild At Heart co-star Amanda Holden reassured: "It’s not just you! I find even a 36 minute run, difficult to squeeze into my day! Plan to do it today and now it’s peeing down, so I’m trying to talk myself into it."
