North Lincolnshire landscaping products supplier Talasey Group has taken on the former headquarters of collapsed Clugston Construction.
The £58 million turnover company has moved into St Vincent House in Scunthorpe, having outgrown its former site at Sandtoft, where it launched in 2004.
It aims to make the sprawling site a centre of excellence for the sector, with the large mature gardens seen as ideal to showcase the portfolio of paving, decking and artificial lawn products.

Mark Wall, founder and chief executive, said that it was the perfect location to enable the company to realise ambitions and hit the next level of growth, “offering amazing facilities that are designed to make a visit a memorable experience”.
Reflecting on fond memories of starting the business as Natural Paving Products (UK) Ltd in Sandtoft, where the distribution centre remains, he said: “The business has grown significantly, and we needed a site that could not only accommodate the next stage of our development but also be somewhere where we could realise wider ambitions – both for our business and for making a positive contribution to our industry.
“As part of our move to the new site, we had a vision that St Vincent House would be an amazing space that all of our customers can use for business meetings, training and development - or even to send their customers to us to look around the display areas. I’m very proud that everyone at the Talasey Group feels that we have achieved that.”
The four acre site has been significantly overhauled since it was bought by the company, with the majority of the 105-strong team to be based there.
It hit the market in early 2020, weeks after the shock loss of the long-standing family business. Offers sound the £700,000 mark had been invited for the property, sitting off Normanby Road.
The two-storey complex features workspace for the growing team as well as conference facilities, including a room that can accommodate 70 people, with entertaining spaces and even nine en-suite rooms for visitors requiring an overnight stay.
One initiative set to blossom is the Talasey Training Academy.
Work is underway to complete the facilities so the group can resume running accredited landscaping courses for a wide range of industry professionals, including students, installers, designers, landscape architects and builders’ merchants.
“We are in an inspiring rural location with lots of space, which will bring so many benefits for our team, suppliers and customers,” Mr Wall said. “Everyone comments on the tranquillity – and how this has a positive influence on the general well-being of people on site.
“More practically, we have so much more space to have expansive display areas to fully showcase our products to their full and stunning effect.
“And, most crucially, we feel that we now have the potential to become a leading industry destination and experience centre that customers and suppliers are happy to travel to – as we continue to drive forward as one of the UK’s leading independent suppliers of landscaping solutions.”
