Phil Pressey might be hanging up his jersey, but he isn’t leaving the game. The former Boston Celtics point guard announced his retirement as a player this week, but it came coupled with an announcement that he’ll be making the leap to the other side of the clipboard.
“While I love this game playing-wise, I’m happy to change my perspective and get into coaching. My alma mater (Missouri) is a good starting point,” tweeted the Celtics alumnus, signed by Boston after going unselected in the 2013 NBA draft. “Basketball has given me so much, and now it’s my turn to do the same.”
“It’s my turn to show them what I did wrong for them to improve on,” he explained. “That’s the thing I am most excited about to be able to give back.”
