English League One leaders Rotherham have rejected a bid from rivals Portsmouth for Rutherglen ace Jamie Lindsay, according to reports.
The former Celtic youngster spent four years at Parkhead and had a series of loan moves in Scotland before landing his big break with Ross County in 2018. He also spent part of his youth days with Motherwell.
His spell at the Staggies caught the eye of The Millers and the 26-year-old signed a three-year deal at New York Stadium in 2019.
That deal runs out in the summer and, according to Football Insider, Portsmouth have swooped to secure his services.
They report an initial bid has been rejected but Pompey chiefs are preparing for a new and improved offer ahead of tomorrow's transfer deadline day.
Lindsay has made 23 appearances for the Millers this season and he has helped them to the top of League One, although only 11 of those have been as a starter.
He came off the bench in yesterday's 2-0 win away to Crewe.
Portsmouth are currently 11th in the table and nine points off the play-off places.
