Former Celtic loanee 'close' to completing loan deal back to his homeland

Former Celtic loanee Tomas Cvancara is set for a loan back to his Czechia homeland, according to reports in Germany.

The striker spent the second half of last season on loan in the east end of Glasgow from Borussia Monchengladbach, scoring two goals 13 appearances.

The highlight of his spell was scoring the winning penalty in the Scottish Cup shootout win over Rangers, but it was underwhelming on the whole on a personal level.

Having not appeared for the German side so far this season, the 26-year-old is set to head back to his homeland with Hradec Kralove for the campaign.

Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg said: "Tomas Cvancara close to joining FC Hradec Kralove.

"Verbal agreement with Borussia Mönchengladbach over a one-year loan without a buy option. Medical planned for Thursday for 26 y/o striker."
