A former business associate of Hunter Biden, Tony Bobulinski, testified before congressional lawmakers on Wednesday, alleging that he had met with Joe Biden in 2017, contrary to the President's denial of such a meeting. Bobulinski's statements were given behind closed doors and were attended by both Republicans and Democrats. In his opening statement, Bobulinski claimed that Joe Biden was not just a participant and beneficiary but the very brand being sold by the Biden family. He alleged that Joe Biden was involved in his family's business and acted as an enabler, despite attempting to maintain plausible deniability through a complex scheme.
Republicans have sided with Bobulinski, highlighting previous instances where Joe Biden had reached out to Hunter Biden's business partners as evidence of his involvement in the family's business. However, during his testimony, Bobulinski made inferences but failed to provide any concrete evidence to link President Biden directly.
Bobulinski did assert that he possessed substantial evidence, including a text message he had sent to Joe Biden's brother, Jim Biden. According to him, the text message read, 'Great to meet you and spend some time together. Please thank Joe for his time. Was great to talk. Thanks, Tony B.' This alleged message is yet to be independently verified.
Meanwhile, the ongoing impeachment probe into President Biden is set to unfold over the next two weeks. Jim Biden, the president's brother, is scheduled to answer questions in a closed-door session next week. Additionally, Hunter Biden, whose testimony has been delayed for two months, is now expected to testify on Capitol Hill under oath in two weeks.
In another development, a new court filing by special counsel Weiss revealed images purporting to be drugs and drug paraphernalia found on Hunter Biden's phone. These images allegedly date back to 2018, around the time when Hunter Biden is accused of lying on a federal gun form by denying drug addiction. He is currently facing these charges in a Delaware federal court, but a trial date has not yet been determined.
As the impeachment probe continues and new evidence emerges, the political climate surrounding the Biden family's past business dealings remains contentious. The testimonies of individuals like Tony Bobulinski serve to fuel the debate, but the veracity and concrete evidence supporting their claims remain subjects of scrutiny and investigation.
