Former Brendan Rodgers favourite delivers inch-perfect assist to help sink Man Utd

A former Celtic midfielder who broke into Brendan Rodgers' all-conquering side during the Irishman's first stretch at Parkhead has played a big hand in helping his side sink Manchester United this afternoon.

Bournemouth overcame the Red Devils 3-0 at Old Trafford today (Sunday), creating another bump in the road for new manager Ruben Amorim in the process.

And it was an inch-perfect Ryan Christie assist that helped kick off the onslaught for Bournemouth.

From there, Andoni Iraola's men hit United twice more – once via a Justin Kluivert penalty kick on 61 minutes, and again two minutes later by way of Antoine Semenyo.

Signed under Ronny Deila in the summer of 2015 from Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Christie was immediately loaned back to ICT before then spending two separate seasons on loan at Aberdeen.

In the summer of 2018, the Scotland internationalist broke into Rodgers' first-team plans with a bang, where he remained through the tenure of Neil Lennon and the very early days of Ange Postecoglou.

In the summer of 2021, Christie left Glasgow for Bournemouth, helping them seek promotion from the English Championship to the Premier League during his first season, where they've remained ever since.
