The signing of Erling Haaland has been praised by former Ballon D'or winner Rivaldo, with the former Barcelona and AC Milan forward claiming that the move will be a 'great partnership' in years to come. The Borussia Dortmund striker has signed for City after they activated his release clause.
They announced the deal on Tuesday, confirming that the 21-year-old who has scored a remarkable 85 goals in 88 games will be joining the club next season subject to personal terms and a medical. This will be part of Pep Guardiola's mission to win the Champions League, having suffered recent failures and the City boss will be hoping that Haaland is the final piece of the jigsaw.
One man who knows about winning the Champions League is the former Brazil forward Rivaldo, having done so with Milan in 2002/03. He says that the striker will become one of the top scorers in the country for years to come.

Speaking to Betfair, the World Cup winner explained: "After two seasons of affirmation in European football with Borussia Dortmund, no one has any doubt any more of the enormous quality of this young player, who will certainly be a great weapon for City to attack next season.
"He arrives with some Champions League experience, plenty of Bundesliga goals and a great desire to fight for major titles so he and City could be a very successful partnership in the coming years.
"His speed, finishing and strong shooting will combine very well with English football and I imagine that he will be one of the top scorers in the country for many years, and consequently competing strongly for the Ballon d’Or because he will also fight for the Champions League, Premier League, etc."
