Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny left Juventus’ Europa League clash against Sporting Lisbon in tears whilst some reports claimed that he had suffered from heart palpitations.
According to Goal Italia, Szczesny had felt palpitations, bursting into tears before asking to be substituted for backup 'keeper Mattia Perin. However, the Serie A club have since confirmed that the Polish international is "doing well" whilst Sky Italy have reported that an electrocardiogram - a test that checks the heart's rhythm and electrical activity - showed that he has no irregularity.
"After an initial check, Tek is doing well," tweeted Juventus, who signed him from the Gunners back in 2017. The 32-year-old then gave an update after the match, thankfully confirming that the results of the tests were good news. "I am fine, I was a little anxious, but we did all the tests and everything is fine," he said.

"I was scared, it had never happened to me before, I was struggling to breathe and it really worried me." Szczesny, who has endeared himself to Arsenal fans many times with his jokes regarding local rivals Tottenham Hotspur, even took a moment to joke about his replacement Perin.
"The truth is, I saw Mattia in great shape in training, I felt tired and knew he would make a great double save in the 94th minute," he said while smiling.
