Former Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey joins Rangers on loan from Juventus

Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has completed his loan move to Rangers from Juventus.

The Welshman has signed for the Scottish champions until the end of the season, when the deal includes an option to make the move permanent.

Ramsey has been deemed surplus to requirements at Juventus by manager Max Allegri and leaves the Italian giants two-and-a-half years after arriving on a free transfer from Arsenal.

The 31-year-old was linked with a return to the Premier League this month, including with Crystal Palace, but has instead headed north of the border to Ibrox, where he will be managed by another former Arsenal player in Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Speaking after agreeing his deal at Rangers, Ramsey said: “I am really pleased to be joining a club like Rangers, where there is so much to look forward to between now and May.

“I had a number of offers on the table, but none matched the magnitude of this club, with European football and the chance to play in front of 50,000 fans every other week.

“I have had some fantastic conversations with the manager and Ross Wilson, and I’m really looking forward to working with both of them, and to meeting the supporters.”

It has been a busy deadline day for Juventus, who have also sanctioned the departures of Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski, both of whom have joined Tottenham.

The Old Lady have already secured Ramsey’s replacement, having earlier announced a deal to sign midfielder Denis Zakaria from Borussia Monchengladbach.
