VIJAYAWADA: In a surprising return, former Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president N Raghuveera Reddy has been inducted into the newly constituted Congress Working Committee(CWC).
Raghuveera Reddy, belongs to Yadav (Kuruba) community, served as PCC president for nearly five years after the bifurcation of the state in 2014. After congress failing to score in the two successive assembly elections in 2014 and 2019, Raghuveera Reddy quit as state congress chief and almost went into political oblivion.
A three-time legislator from Ananthapuram district, Raghuveera was seen tilling his agriculture fields in the hometown for about four years. Interestingly, Raghuveera suddenly became active during the recent padayatra of party former supremo Rahul Gandhi. AICC had also deputed Raghuveera for the campaign in the Karnataka assembly elections. Raghuveera who had good contacts with the leaders in neighbouring Karnataka vigorously toured and took part in the campaign in the areas where Telugu people have sizeable population.
