Former AFL high-flyer Liam Jurrah will remain in custody while he awaits a preliminary examination in court next month after he allegedly broke into a house in Central Australia and assaulted a woman with a machete.
His matter returned to the Alice Springs Local Court this morning but was swiftly adjourned after the court heard he had changed lawyers, causing a delay of several weeks.
The 34-year-old is facing charges of aggravated assault and unlawful entry in relation to an incident on August 2 in his home community of Yuendumu, 330 kilometres north-west of Alice Springs.
