'Forgotten kids' in detention falling between cracks

Youth workers are in despair over "forgotten kids" who spend 20-plus hours a day confined to a room while in detention.

The plight of children in custody in Queensland has again been highlighted by a Court of Appeal judgment handed down this week, with judges describing one child's lengthy isolation as a disgrace and embarrassment.
