Two “forgotten” dog brothers have spent their entire lives in kennels together, after being abandoned as puppies in Romania 10 years ago.
Siblings Lila and Portos haven’t had a single sponsor or foster in their lifetime, and are desperate to find affectionate families to call their own.
Both boys love human attention and cuddles, and are some of the longest-staying residents of the 300 dogs at Nobody Dogs Rescue .
Neither of them have stepped foot outside of the rescue centre since they entered in 2012.
While it would be amazing if the brothers found a family in the UK together, the shelter’s manager is happy for them to live separately if it means finding them homes.

Alena Stan runs Nobody Dogs Rescue in Romania, and works alongside Bridging The Gap Rescue in the UK to unite stray dogs from kill shelters with families across Europe.
Lila and Portos were abandoned at the shelter when they were four months old, alongside their three siblings.
Their brothers and sisters were adopted as puppies, but neither Lila or Portos have ever been considered.
“They have both been forgotten about since they were puppies. No one has found it in their hearts to take them home,” Alena said.
Alena describes Lila as a “friendly boy” who can be shy around people he doesn’t know.
“He’s spent his whole life knowing just a few of us workers in the shelter so that’s normal,” she explained.
His brother Portos is very similar and has a “playful” personality.
Both "happy" boys can walk on leads and respond to recall. They enjoy roaming around the ranch’s fields in the summer.
Their favourite food is bread and they’ll always choose carbs over meat.
“We joke in the shelter and say the bread is like chocolate,” Alena said.
Lila and Portos are vaccinated, micro-chipped and neutered. They could live with other dogs and are “fabulous” around older children.
They are looking for forever homes in a rural environment, as neither are used to city noises and cars.
“The boys love cuddles and try to get my attention every time I pass their kennel,” Alena said.
The dog brothers have lived with their best friend Axel in the kennel for years, and he is also looking for a place to call home.
