An investigation has been launched following a suspected arson attack in Newcastle.
Officers were called to a report of a fire at an address on Boyd Street in Shieldfield at around 10.41pm on Monday, September 12. A group of people are said to have set the property alight before leaving the scene.
Northumbria Police has confirmed that no one was injured and that the incident is being treated as arson. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident at this stage.

Forensic teams have been at the scene today and a police investigation has been launched. Anyone with information is urged to contact the force.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: “At 10.41pm yesterday (Monday) police received a report of a fire at an address on Boyd Street, Newcastle.
“It was reported a group of offenders had approached the property before setting it alight and making off from the scene. No one was injured and the incident is currently being treated as arson."
