Foreigner kills building manager, flees

BENGALURU: A foreigner went missing after he hit a 43-year-old man’s head against a wall till he died over a rent-related row near Hoskote on Monday.

The deceased is Shivakumar, a resident of Melumakanahalli village and native of Molakalmuru, Chitradurga district. Police said he worked as a daily-wage labourer and was also manager for a landlord named Bharath. He used to collect rent and maintain water and other services at a building owned by Bharath. The suspect, Bobby, claimed to be from the West Indies and was living in a room in the building for more than four months. He was irregular in paying rent. On Sunday, Bharath asked him to vacate and sent him out of the building. Shivakumar noticed that Bobby was back in the room on Monday and informed Bharath, who again warned Bobby.

Angry with Shivakumar for informing Bharath, Bobby returned to the building and found his victim on the second floor around 3pm. He allegedly banged Shivakumar’s head repeatedly against a wall till his death and fled. The incident came to light around 5pm when a tenant noticed Shivakumar’s body.
