Foreign worker found not guilty of rape, guilty of sex with child under 16 in Margaret River

A Tongan seasonal worker has been found not guilty of raping a teenage girl in Margaret River in 2021, but faces jail time for having sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 16.

After deliberating for more than three hours following the four-day trial, the Busselton District Court jury found 24-year-old Sione Vaioleti not guilty of aggravated sexual penetration without consent.
