Owners of Ford’s Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning electric vehicles who have had a bit of trouble, are going to have a much easier time finding a place to charge their machines, thanks to a rival in their segment.

Following a previous statement made in May, Ford (F) -) announced in a statement on Oct. 30 that they are increasing the amount of Tesla (TSLA) -) Superchargers that will be available for use by its EV customers.
According to Ford, “more than 15,000 confirmed” Tesla Superchargers will be added to their BlueOval Charge Network, up from 12,000 that was previously announced in May. Owners of Ford EVs will be able to access the Tesla-branded chargers starting in Spring 2024 by the use of a special adapter, which will be available online through their website.
Tesla Superchargers are just one of the many partners that have participated in Ford’s BlueOval Charging Network, which currently provides its North American customers with over 88,000 chargers from partners like Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint and EVgo.

According to Tesla, more than 50,000 Superchargers have been installed along major routes and near convenient amenities, which they claim is the largest global fast charging station network in the world. Data from a February 2023 report by Reuters states that Tesla's network contains more than 17,711 Superchargers in the U.S. and accounts for about 60% of the total number of fast chargers.
Details about pricing for charging and the required adapter needed to plug into Tesla's superchargers will be announced by Ford at a later date.
